Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU hits a huge 3.6GHz overclock – but does anyone care?

Nvidia’s RTX 4080 is now the focus of overclocking experts, with seriously fast clock speeds being reached by the GPU (after seeing huge overclocks achieved by the RTX 4090 already, as you may recall).

Tom’s Hardware spotted that the Galax OC team used the firm’s own RTX 4080 SG 1-Click OC graphics card (the SG stands for ‘Serious Gamer’), and managed to crank it up to 3.615GHz for a new record as the fastest 4080 we’ve seen.

That’s over 1GHz higher than the factory default boost for the SG, which is 2.565GHz by the way, with the 1-click overclock mode the graphics card is named after notching that up to 2.58GHz to give you an idea of a more typical slight overclock.

As Galax observes, the 3.615GHz overclock is actually 40% faster than the 1-click overclock, and it’s an impressive achievement.

Sadly, no other info is shared on the overclock, although we can safely assume that it used liquid nitrogen cooling (or some other exotic method), as these kinds of speeds can’t be reached using any conventional cooler.

Analysis: A seriously impressive feat, but it’s unlikely to move consumers

The RTX 4080 has launched to flak from reviewers and gamers alike, due to its shaky overall value proposition – Nvidia has certainly pushed the price tag as hard as it can with this GPU. The reality is that with the RTX 4080’s price point, in some cases custom third-party boards cost nearly as much as the RTX 4090 – which is a considerably faster graphics card (and a ridiculous situation, for sure).

Given that, you may not want to hear about the RTX 4080 hitting record speeds, or care much at all about it, and we get where you’re coming from. But it’s still interesting to see how far these Lovelace GPUs can be pushed when overclocking, with plenty of headroom available.

The RTX 4090 has previously attained a boost speed of 3.825GHz, but remember this was the ‘HOF’ (Hall Of Fame) edition of the Galax 4090, a board which is specially designed to do well with overclocking (an expensive limited edition proposition for expert overclockers, basically).

The RTX 4080 card used here is just a plain Galax board aimed at consumers, so to see it reach only 200MHz shy of the seriously customized HOF version of the 4090 is actually very impressive. It points to the GPU having some beefy overclocking chops, but that’s unlikely to persuade potential RTX 4080 buyers to take the plunge, mind you – instead, we reckon a price drop might help to do the trick there.

If Galax made a HOF version of the RTX 4080, then it’d obviously be capable of going a good deal faster, but whether that’ll happen, who knows? While HOF variants of the RTX 3080 and 2080 (Super) were produced by Galax, given the situation with the 4080 and its current popularity – or lack of it – we don’t foresee one arriving in anything like the near future, let’s put it this way.

The best recent news we’ve heard about the RTX 4080, frankly, is the way the graphics card is teaching scalpers a well-deserved lesson.

The Acolyte will turn the Star Wars universe on its head, star teases

The Acolyte will take Star Wars fans on a journey that's "never been done before", according to one of its stars.

Speaking exclusively to TechRadar during a junket for His Dark Materials season 3, Dafne Keen teased that the forthcoming TV show – one of many new Star Wars TV shows and movies in development – will be unlike anything fans have seen from Lucasfilm's legendary sci-fi franchise.

Given the secrecy around the Disney Plus show, Keen, who was recently revealed as part of The Acolyte's all-star cast, was hesitant to give too much away. However, the former Logan actor teased some bits about what fans can expect from The Acolyte, including a tiny but important piece of information about its plot.

"I can tease that it's a prequel!" Keen joked when asked what she could say about The Acolyte. "No, I mean, as you know, it's set 100 years before the prequel movies, and it's kind of an explanation of how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi. It's a Sith-led story, which has never been done before.

"It's been really fun to film – the cast is amazing, and the director and crew are just lovely. The whole experience is wonderful, and I'm already excited for people to see it."

As Keen says, Star Wars: The Acolyte is set a century before the events of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The series, which began filming in late October, takes place during the High Republic era, a time when the Galactic Republic and the Jedi order were at the height of their powers.

However, not all is as it seems. The show's plot synopsis – as revealed on StarWars.com – confirms that evil forces are stirring somewhere in the galaxy, and it's these events, which play out in The Acolyte, that eventually lead to the Jedi and Galactic Republic's downfall in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. As such, The Acolyte will be fully canon in the Star Wars universe when it launches on Disney Plus.

"The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era," the story synopsis reads. "A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated."

Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies) will be the series' primary protagonist, with the former Hunger Games star being cast as the show's lead actor in December 2021. There's no word on who Stenberg is playing, but it's likely to be the former Padawan that the plot synopsis mentions.

Stenberg is joined by a number of recognizable stars in the show. As well as Keen, Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game season 2), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix Resurrections), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), Jodie Turner-Smith (Without Remorse), and Manny Jacinto (Top Gun: Maverick) have been cast in supporting roles. Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) is on writing, directing, and executive-producing duties, while Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy is among the show's other executive producers.

Star Wars: The Acolyte will comprise eight episodes upon release, though it's unclear when it'll land on Disney Plus – and there's a good chance that it'll find its way onto our list of the best Disney Plus shows when it does launch.

Future OnePlus phones will be supported for as long as the Samsung Galaxy S22

Not so long ago, Android phones were terrible for updates, with many handsets only getting a couple of new Android releases if they were lucky. But in recent years a lot of brands have been supporting their phones for longer, and now OnePlus is pushing support beyond that of almost any other company.

OnePlus has announced that “select models” of its phones will now get four major Android updates and five years of security patches – figures which match what Samsung is offering on the Galaxy S22 and select other handsets.

That’s up from the company's previous promise of three years of major Android updates and four years of security patches. The company has been frustratingly vague about which phones will actually be eligible for this extended support, but the press release says “on select devices launched in 2023 and beyond”, which sadly suggests it won’t apply to current models like the OnePlus 10 Pro.

Presumably, the OnePlus 11 will be eligible though, and with any luck upcoming mid-range models from the Nord line will be too, but only time will tell.

In the same breath, the company also outlined some of what users can expect from upcoming updates – namely OxygenOS 13.1 and OxygeonOS 14.

The first of those (OxygenOS 13.1) is due in the first half of 2023, and will include a focus on safety and privacy features, with OnePlus mentioning an improved version of its Private Safe function, which is designed to keep data sharing safe and secure.

There’s also a focus on improved digital health and well-being, including accessibility features for users with disabilities. Finally, photo albums are set be improved, and the company claims it will continue focusing on offering a smooth experience.

Talk of OxygenOS 14 was a lot vaguer, but words like fast, smooth, and reliable were thrown around.

Analysis: OnePlus now offers longer-term support than Google, but still trails Apple

With the promise of four major Android updates and five years of security patches, OnePlus has leapfrogged Google which, despite making Android, only promises three years of major OS updates – but matches OnePlus for security patches.

While it’s great to see OnePlus doing this, it also just highlights that Google itself still isn’t doing enough.

And we’d still give the edge to Samsung on the software updates front, since a number of its current phones are promised as many updates as OnePlus is now offering, rather than just non-specific upcoming phones.

Yet there’s still no Android brand that matches Apple for updates. While Apple doesn’t promise a specific number, a lot of iPhones have received five years of software updates and some managed as many as six. And we’re not just talking security updates here – these are major operating system updates of the kind that OnePlus and Samsung only promise four years of.

So, every Android brand has work to do, but this is another step in the right direction from OnePlus, and one more thing that could help the best OnePlus phones rank among the best phones in future.

Still looking for a Cyber Monday Sony WH-1000XM4 deal? Here's the best one

If you're hankering after a set of Sony's excellent WH-1000XM4 over-ear wireless noise-cancellers this Cyber Monday, you're not alone – it's one of the most searched for products of the season. And we're here for it.

We have to tell you that briefly (oh, so briefly!) yesterday, they did drop to $193 at Amazon... but that fleeting and euphoric moment passed in the blink of an eye.

However, they can still be found for $228 in blue, at Amazon, and also via a couple of other online retailers, including in both black and silver at Crutchfield (a deal which ends today) and in all colorways (black, blue and silver) for that $228 low price at Best Buy

In the UK, the best deal is £219 at Amazon (from £350) – although again, we have to tell you that they have in the past dipped to £201.99 (September last year, to be precise) and we haven't seen that this year… We're unlikely to, though - thanks inflation.

US: The best Sony WH-1000XM4 deal

Sony WH-1000XM4: was $349.99 now $228 at Amazon
This price drop equals the lowest we'd ever seen them on Amazon prior to the moment they dropped to $193 ever so briefly. We wish that time would return, but we can't promise it will. What we can promise is that you can have the blue finish at Amazon (but if you want the silver set, those are reduced to this price over at Best Buy). And let's face it, these are an excellent set of wireless cans. Although the newer XM5s sound just that tiny bit better, it's a closely run race. These hugely popular over-ear headphones are sonically gifted, boast excellent ANC and, unlike their younger siblings, fold up for easier transportation in their included travel case too… View Deal

UK: The best Sony WH-1000XM4 deal

Sony WH-1000XM4: was £350 now £219 at Amazon
These hugely popular over-ear headphones are sonically gifted, boast excellent ANC and, unlike their younger siblings, fold up for easier transportation in their included travel case too. They're an excellent buy at this price and although it's not the absolute cheapest we've ever seen them (that would be £201.99, very briefly, last year) it's almost certainly the lowest they'll go this year. Our advice? Don't miss out if you're on the fence here.… View Deal

Need more info on why the Sony WH-1000XM4 are the go-to choice for Cyber Monday shoppers? Our in-depth review is the place to go.

Their popularity endures despite the launch of the new (and resoundingly different-looking) WH-1000XM5 – which, incidentally, dropped to their lowest ever price for Black Friday and it's still live

Why are they still the most sought after pair? Well, while we applaud Sony's innovative approach and the newer XM5 cans do also sound excellent, those don't fold up for easier travel. And let's face it, it wasn't broke… so there was no need to fix it. You can even read one TechRadar writer's love note to the XM4s, even compared to her AirPods Max. Compelling stuff.

Look, I love a sub-$50 earbuds deal roundup as much as the next person, but I also love exceptional audio quality and the ability to stick on an excellent pair of cans with Sony's LDAC support, and these beautiful headphones will give you that.

You can see all of the deals live now, wherever you are, listed below. If I see them drop again, I'll be back like a shot to tell you about it – I promise.

3 ways to save money in the Cyber Monday mattress sales

Another Black Friday is in the books, but we're not done with the mattress sales yet. Cyber Monday is here, and in most cases, they'll be a continuation of the bargains we saw on Black Friday. But can you maximize your savings on Cyber Monday mattress deals? Absolutely.

Before you navigate this year's crop of Cyber Monday sales, follow these three shopping tips to get the most for your money. I've kept a close eye on the ever-changing prices of the best mattresses over the years so these shopping hacks are a result of what I've witnessed as a deal-hunter and a consumer.

So whether you need a comfortable mattress for side sleepers or the best cooling mattress, you'll be well on your way to pocketing enough extra cash to put toward other Cyber Monday deals you've been eyeing – as long as you keep these three mattress shopping tips in mind...

3 Cyber Monday mattress shopping tips

1. Keep tabs on the price history

Mattress brands adjust retail prices at various points of the year. Mattress costs are at their highest in the summertime before dropping to their absolute lowest during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. To ensure you're actually getting a deal and not a dud, you'll want to check the price history of a mattress.

It's not as daunting a task as it might seem thanks to our dedicated sales pages, which our deal hunters update every month with details on why a current mattress deal is hot (or not). Bookmark them for easy access and to stay on top of the latest offers. Check them out below:

Meanwhile, if you're shopping on Amazon In that case, head to CamelCamelCamel to track the price history of any mattress sold by Amazon or one of its third parties. For all other merchants, use Google Shopping for a 30-day snapshot of mattress sale prices.

2. Seek freebies and bundle deals

Money off a new mattress is great, but brands like to sweeten their Cyber Monday deals by offering free items with purchase. These typically include sheet sets, mattress protectors, and pillows. Mattress freebie deals are super convenient if you're swapping to a different bed size or haven't bought new sheets and pillows in years,

Some of our favorite Cyber Monday mattress freebie deals are below:

1. DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid mattress: was $799 now from $599 + up to $599 in freebies at DreamCloud
The five-layer, 14" deep DreamCloud is a great choice for those who want a luxurious feeling hybrid mattress, but who can't quite stretch to the Saatva Classic. In the Cyber Monday mattress sales, there's 25% off and up to $599 worth of sleep accessories bundled in, which makes it an incredible value. With this offer, a queen sized DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid is $899. In our DreamCloud mattress review, we found this mattress does a superb job of regulating temperature, thanks to gel-infused memory foam, an innerspring layer that allows for movement of air, and a quilted foam and cashmere top layer that's designed to wick away moisture. It's an excellent choice for anyone who likes the sound of a pressure-relieving memory foam, but wants something more responsive, with a little bounce.View Deal

2. Cocoon by Sealy Chill mattress: was $769 now from $474 + free sheets and pillows at Cocoon by Sealy
This is Sealy's evergreen offer, which knocks 35% off the MSRP and includes a sheets and pillows bundle (valued at up to $199). But if you pop the code EXTRA25 in at the checkout, you'll get another $25 off. That brings the price of a queen down to $774 (was $1,239). As well as packing some strong chilling powers for an affordable price, it's also excellent when it comes to reducing motion transfer – great if you have a restless partner. View Deal

3. Bear Original mattress: was $748, now from $487 + sleep bundle at Bear
The Bear Original is an all-foam mattress that's designed to promote healthy spinal alignment. It's recommended for athletes and back pain, as well as offering great value for money. With this Cyber Monday mattress deal, there's 35% off all sizes, and you'll get a bedding bundle that includes two pillows (one with twin), a sheet set and a mattress protector thrown in for free. After discount, a queen Bear mattress costs $649 (was $998). View Deal

A bundle deal will help you save money if you buy a mattress with select items – for instance, sheets, pillows, bed frames, and foundations. Whether you want to upgrade your current sleep setup or are in the process of moving house, you'll be able to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars thanks to mattress bundle deals.

For instance, the GhostBed Cyber Monday sale takes up to 50% off several mattress and base bundles. You'll be able to choose the base and mattress you'd like and opt for other extras such as sheets, pillows, and weighted blankets. See how we got on with the brand's most popular cooling model in our GhostBed Luxe mattress review.

3. You may need to be patient (or shop around)

Cyber Monday mattress deals are an opportunity to capitalize on some of the year's best savings – which is good news if you hit snooze on Black Friday deals. However, understand that waiting until the tail end of the busy shopping weekend might mean you'll have to wait a little longer for your mattress to arrive due to depleted stock.

You can shop around, though. Typically, the best Cyber Monday mattress deals will come directly from the brand, but third-party sellers could match (or beat) those offers and have sufficient stock on hand. This sounds even more appealing when you remember lots of mattresses at Amazon qualify for free 2-day shipping via Prime.

But caveat emptor – buying from an online retailer may yield different warranty and trial terms versus purchasing right from the source. Third-party stores don't usually match the generous perks mattress manufacturers provide, so double-check the terms and conditions from wherever you buy to see what you qualify for.

Now that you're equipped with a little extra knowledge, take a look at the best Cyber Monday mattress deals from top stores:

Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti GPU could arrive soon – but at what cost?

Nvidia’s RTX 4070 Ti has been spotted in an online filing of multiple models from Gigabyte, indicating that we might see the graphics card released soon enough, as previous rumors have suggested.

Gigabyte filed the various RTX 4070 Ti models with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), as flagged up by @harukaze5719, a regular leaker on Twitter (via VideoCardz), and this typically happens not long before products are launched.

The RTX 4070 Ti variants filed are as follows:

  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Aorus Master (GV-N407TAORUS M-12GD)
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Aorus Elite (GV-N407TAORUS E-12GD)
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Gaming OC (GV-N407TGAMING OC-12GD)
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Gaming (GV-N407TGAMING 12GD)
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Aero OC (GV-N407TAERO OC-12GD)
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Aero (GV-N407TAERO-12GD)
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Eagle OC (GV-N407TEAGLE OC-12GD)
  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Eagle (GV-N407TEAGLE-12GD)

In theory, then, we should see those graphics cards emerging in the near future, as mentioned. Interestingly, at the same time, Gigabyte also filed Radeon RX 7900 models with the EEC too, but we know those are coming (on December 13, though we aren’t sure if third-party cards will be present on shelves right from the off).

Notably, Gigabyte is unleashing a couple of vanilla reference board models, so those may be first to arrive if the rumor mill is right (although the latest word on the grapevine is that some custom RX 7900 models may actually be available right out of the gate, and not just reference cards, which are those built to AMD’s default base spec).

Analysis: Return of the lower-tier RTX 4080 – but how will it be priced?

This is another strong hint that Nvidia has an RTX 4070 Ti in the pipeline for the near future, and the fact that the filings have been made at the same time as RX 79000 models – which are due out next month – suggests a release date that might well marry up with what previously speculation pointed to: namely January 5th. That would be a CES launch, of course, so we shall see…

Remember, it should be no surprise that Nvidia would have this GPU ready to go when you recall that the RTX 4080 12GB was canceled, and this is supposedly going to be the return of that GPU in a different guise (or that’s the theory, anyway). In other words, everything was already in place for this launch, more or less.

The key to the RTX 4070 Ti will naturally be the pricing. How differently will Nvidia pitch it to the canned RTX 4080 12GB, which had an MSRP of $899 in the US? Obviously it will need to be cheaper than this, but how much lower will Team Green go?

Will Nvidia take into account the reaction to the costly RTX 4080 16GB, which has been a clearly unpopular GPU due to its price/performance ratio? (It makes the RTX 4090 look like the high-end graphics card to go for in no uncertain terms, if you can afford what in some instances is only a little bit of an extra outlay, depending on what exact models you compare).

We can perhaps hope for a $699 MSRP in the US for the 4070 Ti, but the reality is given Nvidia’s past pricing form, it’ll probably turn up with a bit of a higher recommended price tag than this; perhaps $749, or even $799. Time will tell, but it’d be nice to see Team Green give consumers a bit of a break in the higher-end GPU market at this point.

The Huawei Mate X3 should be arriving soon to take on the Z Fold 4

If you're keen on foldable phones but aren't fully convinced by the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, then there should soon be another of these innovative devices available to buy: the Huawei Mate X3 is apparently now ready for mass production and should show up soon.

That's according to tipster Wangzai Knows Everything (via Notebookcheck), and the word is that it will follow the design aesthetic laid down by Samsung quite closely – as well as potentially cost significantly less than its rival.

There may be some compromises along the way, with rumors that the handset will have to make do with 4G rather than 5G. It should come running the latest high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor though.

What we know so far

We don't actually know much at all about what the Huawei Mate X3 is going to bring with it, though some clues might be offered up by what we've previously seen on the Huawei Mate X2, which made its debut in February 2021.

That's nearly two years ago, so the Mate X3 follow up is somewhat overdue at this point. The Mate X2 came with an 8-inch screen for its main display, and carried the Kirin 9000 processor as well as up to 12GB of RAM and a quad-lens rear camera.

Those are premium-level specs and it looks as though the Mate X3 will continue that trend, apart from, perhaps, the absence of 5G connectivity. Based on the new leak, the phone might appear at some point in the first half of 2023.

Analysis: more competition please

While we really like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and indeed the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, we would also like to see a few more options out there for consumers who want to pick up a foldable phone without having to part with a significant chunk of their savings.

There are of course decent alternatives out there already – like the Motorola Razr and the Xiaomi Mix Fold – but no one else seems to be prepared to invest quite so much into the future of foldables as Samsung are at the moment.

The Huawei Mate X3 could well go some way to giving Samsung more to contend with in the foldables space, but Huawei needs to improve in terms of its international distribution. The Mate X2 isn't easy to get if you live outside of China.

We're hoping that the foldable iPhone and the Pixel Fold show up sooner rather than later, which will go a long way to improve the choice available. There's a good chance that both of these high-profile handsets will make an appearance in 2023.

Intel’s faster Raptor Lake flagship CPU spotted at retailer – and it looks pricey

Intel’s incoming Core i9-13900KS, which will be a new version of the Raptor Lake flagship CPU – one capable of boost to 6GHz right out of the box, no overclocking needed – could be over 20% more expensive than the current 13900K.

As VideoCardz highlighted, this is going by a tweet from hardware leaker @momomo_us who picked up on the 13900KS – and other inbound Raptor Lake processors – being listed at retailer PC Canada (keep your skeptical head firmly on, naturally).

The 13900KS is priced at $927 Canadian Dollars, and comparing that to the price of the existing 13900K at the same retailer, that’s a 22% markup.

A bunch of other Raptor Lake processors are listed and priced here, models which have already been leaked previously (by Microsoft in fact). They include the Core i3-13100 at the other end of the spectrum from the 13900KS, a quad-core processor marked up at $207 Canadian Dollars (or $170 for the 13100F which is the variant that drops the integrated GPU to keep the cost down more).

Analysis: Beware the dangers of placeholder pricing

Intel is set to reveal these new Raptor Lake processors at CES 2023, which isn’t far off now. The Core i9-13900KS and other 13th-gen models turning up at this Canadian retailer is a tantalizing suggestion that they could hit shelves pretty soon after the initial reveal of the CPUs. Typically, we’ll see new models unveiled a while before they actually go on sale – but this is a hint that the wait for additional Raptor Lake silicon won’t be long.

Regarding the actual pricing, these are likely to be placeholders as is often the case when pre-release chips pop up early at retailers, so don’t put too much stock in the price tags shown.

That said, this could be a reasonable rough indication of the kind of premium to expect for the 13900KS compared to the 13900K. At the high-end, you’re always going to be looking at a big dent in your wallet, especially when a chip like the ‘KS’ version of an Intel flagship comes out, so 20% extra may not be an unrealistic proposition. Given that the 13900K is still retailing at up towards the $700 mark in the US, though – albeit Black Friday discounts have chopped it down a bit with some retailers – that could leave the 13900KS at a pretty eye-watering level.

Assuming this is the kind of additional outlay in the cards, will it be worth paying that for what is essentially an extra 200MHz of boost compared to the 13900K? Well, that’s arguable certainly, and it remains to be seen how the 13900KS will perform in terms of the raw grunt it can muster and how that’ll be affected by temperatures and throttling (though the cooling solution used will come into play here, too, obviously).

However, enthusiasts who want the absolute best – the niche market that the KS model is aimed at – will likely stretch to any extra expense without too much difficulty. Let’s face it, these are the folks buying Nvidia’s new Lovelace GPUs which are way, way more expensive than even the 13900KS will be.

Amazon's best-selling standing desk is even cheaper for Cyber Monday

Update: Amazon reduced the price of this standing desk by .... $0.01.

Right now, you can save $130 off the FEZIBO electric adjustable height standing desk at Amazon. That brings its price down to just $199.98, making it one of the cheapest standing desk deals we've seen for Cyber Monday. Note that you need to be an Amazon Prime member to access this price as it is a Prime Exclusive.

Many of us have shifted to working from home during the last couple of years, and if your home office furniture is starting to show the strain, Cyber Monday 2022 is a great opportunity to upgrade and this standing desk - Amazon's best-selling one - seems to be a no-brainer.

An electric desk like this gives you the option to switch between sitting and standing, and pick the perfect height for comfortable working. It's controlled via a convenient keypad on the right-hand side, and you can save three presets for quick access. Oh and don't forget to check out our Cyber Monday office chair deals to get the perfect match for your desk.

Drop everything: Apple MacBook Air M1 Cyber Monday deal is the cheapest we've ever seen

This MacBook Air M1 deal may be the best Cyber Monday deal we've ever seen, with Amazon cutting the price of the base model to just £829 - the cheapest we've ever seen it.

In the US, we've seen a similarly low deal for the M1 MacBook Air for just $734.99, though this is with a smaller 128GB SSD (the UK model has double at 256GB). The US model is also refurbished.

(Not in the UK or US? Scroll down for deals in your region).

The MacBook Air (M1, 2020) has been our pick for the best laptop in the world since it launched two years ago, only having recently been replaced with the newer M2 model (which is also more expensive).

We've seen a couple of MacBook Air M1 deals quickly go out of stock, and none of them are as cheap as this one, and you're not going to find a laptop this good for this cheap anywhere else, as far as we're concerned. Stock is selling out fast, however!
